DONNA J. SCHUMACHER, 67

Donna J. Schumacher, 67, of Wayne, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.

Visitation is noon until 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Schumacher-Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne, with the family receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m.

Donna J. Schumacher was born Oct. 31, 1935, in Fremont to Walter and Leona (Giesselman) Nieman.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from Arlington High School.

She married Carroll Triggs at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The couple owned and operated a carpet and drapery business in Blair until Mr. Triggs’ death in 1969.

On Dec. 1, 1972, she married Steve Schumacher at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Logan, Iowa. In 1973, the couple moved to Wayne where they owned and operated Schumacher Funeral Homes until retiring in 1998.

Mrs. Schumacher was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne. She enjoyed collecting and dressing porcelain dolls, and collecting Department “56” Christmas village figures.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Peggy Triggs of Wayne; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Todd Hoeman of Wayne; five grandchildren; her mother, Leona Nieman of Wayne; and mother-in-law, Marian Schumacher of Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her father and her first husband.
