MRS. WILLIAMSEN DIED AT IMMANUEL HOSPITAL NOV. 17

Mrs. Stella Williamsen, a long-time resident of the Spiker and Orum areas, died last Wednesday, November 17th at the Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. She was 88 years old.

Stella Lucinda Alberta Williamsen was born September 6th, 1883 near Spiker. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Niels Christiansen who was a farmer and carpenter of the area. Her father built the Orum church which is still standing and in use.

Mrs. Williamsen was confirmed in the church at the age of 14 and she continued to attend there even following her marriage to Theodore E. Williamsen. The couple farmed most of the adult life.

Her husband died August 31, 1950 and Mrs. Williamsen moved to Omaha to be nearer to some of her children.

She was the mother of 12 children, five of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by Howard Williamsen, of Blair; Mrs. Glen Wedergren (Gladys) of Hooper; Gilbert Williamsen of Omaha; Mrs. Bess Basler of Hooper; Clarence Williamsen of Omaha; Mrs. Marion Culter (Florence) and Mrs. Gerald Martin (Joyce) both of Council Bluffs, Iowa. There are 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum last Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Robert Albers of Blair conducting the service. Burial was made in the Orum Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home of Blair. The pallbearers were all grandsons. They were Darrell, Harold, Larry and Carroll Williamsen, Michael Saner and Richard Petersen.
