Christiansen Rites Held Saturday

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Pender Methodist Church for Jens Christiansen, 85. Rev. W. Elliott officiated.

Pallbearers were Neal and Mark Shreve, Robert and Donald Novacek, Kenneth and Norman Christiansen.

Interment was in Walthill Cemetery.

Mrs. W.W. Elliott and Mrs. Helen Posvar sang several selections, accompanied by Miss Marcia Miller.

Mr. Christiansen died Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the home of his son, Oscar. He was born at Rostrup, Denmark, on Feb. 15, 1868. He was married to Christina Hansen at DeSota, Nebr., June 15, 1900.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs.. Neal Shreve of Sioux City, Mrs. Paul Kunzie of Winnebago, and Mrs. Everett Wingett of Walthill; three sons, Hans, Harold and Oscar, all of Pender; two sisters, Mrs. Sena Wulf and Mrs. Fred Knudsen, both of Blair; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Christiansen had farmed in Thurston and Cuming counties for 35 years.

Note: Jens was a brother to Dorothea Christiansen Jensen.
