Ruby J. Hansen, 83

Ruby J. Hansen, 83, of Blair, died Sunday evening, January 20, 2013, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services will be Monday, January 28, at 10 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Visitation will be Sunday, January 27, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Ruby Jane Larsen was born on September 14, 1929, to Edgar and Elna Larsen in rural Herman.

She graduated from Herman High School in 1947.

She worked as a bookkeeper/secretary at The Lutheran Publishing House, Nebraska-Iowa Supply Co., American National Insurance, Wilkerson Manufacturing and Coleridge Nursing Home.

When Mrs. Hansen retired, the couple sold their home in Blair and lived at Johansen Manor prior to her moving to Good Shepherd Lutheran Community.

She enjoyed attending events at the Chatt Center in Tekamah, card-playing dinners with close friends, Navy reunions with her husband’s ship crew, traveling on cruises and European trips, but most of all, family gatherings with their children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Andrew “Butch” Hansen; brother, Howard Larsen; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Kay and Don Davis; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Olga Hansen; Michael Hansen and fiancée, Cindi; grandchildren, John Davis and fiancée, Jennifer; Megan Davis and friend, Bryan, and Heather (Davis) and Matt Doering; six great-grandchildren, Makinzy, Hannah, John Jr., Zaydn, Coley and Kyndal; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Community or First Lutheran Church of Blair.

Note: there were two more obituaries, one posted in the Enterprise, January 25 and the other in the Omaha World-Herald January 24. Neither one had new information.
