Kenneth L. Eriksen, 79

Kenneth L. Eriksen, 79, of Craig, died Nov. 15, 2003, at the Logan Valley Manor in Lyons.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont. Interment will be in the Craig Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post No. 127 of Craig and VFW Post No. 5543 of Oakland. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Kenneth L. Eriksen was born Jan. 26, 1924, at Craig to Christian and Hazel (Larson) Eriksen. He was a graduate of Craig High School.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 until 1946. He was an ammunition bearer in the 12th Cavalry Regiment and saw action in the Battle of Luzon. He was the recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Army of Occupation Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal, along with several other medals of recognition.

After the war, Mr. Eriksen returned to the Craig area and continued farming, which was his life-long work.

He is survived by a sister, Lois Woods of Oakland; a nephew, Leslie K. Woods of Fremont; great nieces and a great nephew, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Eriksen, and a sister, Dorothy Eriksen.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
