Millie A. Eriksen, 95

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 17 at Palmquist Funeral Home in Oakland for Millie A. Eriksen, 95, who died July 13, 1990, at Oakland Heights Nursing Home in Oakland. Rev. H. Walter Trim is officiating. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Millie A. Eriksen was born May 25, 1895, in rural Pender to Taylor and Rosa Corwin Osburn. She grew up in the rural Pender area, graduating from Emerson High School in 1913.

She married Jesse Eriksen, then a resident of Herman, January 14, 1914, in Blair. A homemaker, she and her husband spent much of their married life in the Emerson/Oakland/Homer area.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oakland and the Women's Missionary Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of the VFW.

She was preceded in death by her husband on March 27, 1956; one son, Howard, in 1981; her parents; five sisters; and six brothers.

She is survived by two sons, Elwin Eriksen of Salem, Oregon, and Erland "Red" Eriksen of Visalia, California; one daughter, Wanda Murphy of Riverside, California; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Willard Hansen is organist. Rev. Todd C. Karges is soloist.

Pallbearers are Jack Eriksen, Scott Eriksen, Brian Eriksen, Donald Eriksen, Irvin Clements and Merida Odie.

Memorials may be made to the Oakland Heights Nursing Home.

Palmquist Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
