Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 7, at First United Methodist Church for Mae A. Nelsen of Blair, who died at the Memorial Community Hospital September 4, 1990. Burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

Mae A. Nelsen was born March 21, 1906 at Vinton, Iowa, to Charles A. and Alice Clayton Carlson. She graduated from Fontanelle High School in 1924.

On August 10, 1929 she married Clyde Nelsen at Council Bluffs, Iowa. They moved to Blair in 1933 and in 1955 moved to Colorado. After their retirement, they traveled for 15 years until returning to Blair in 1985 where they have resided.

Mae was a charter and life member of the Frank Carlson American Legion Post at Fontanelle, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband Clyde, three sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde J. and Wanda Nelsen, Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska, Don and Barbara Nelsen, Kihei Maui, Hawaii; and Rev. Ronald and Corinne Nelsen, Keokuk, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
