CHARLES SAMSON

Charles William (Bill) Samson, 65, died Thursday, April 10, 1986 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. He was born October 28, 1920 in Cincinnati, Iowa and graduated from high school there. He attended Dana College and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

A World War II veteran, he served with the Army tank corps in the African, Sicilian and European campaigns. On April 26, 1950, he married Ruth Ann O’Hanlon of Blair. He owned the Valley Drug Store in Missouri Valley for many years, after which he worked for the Small Business Administration in Omaha. He retired in 1974.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann; four children, Ann Duey of Sylvan Grove, Kansas; Reed Samson of Omaha; John Samson of Blair; and Jane Samson of Santa Ana, California. He is also survived by four grandchildren and two sisters, Charline Doney of Chandler, Arizona and Mary Virginia Stanfel of Rockford, Illinois.

A rosary was said at Campbell Mortuary on Friday evening. Funeral services were held at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair.
