Mrs. Myrtle Nelsen Services Held Friday

Funeral services were held Friday, October 13th for Mrs. Myrtle Nelsen, a resident of this area for many years. Mrs. Nelsen was 88 years of age, having been born at Kennard, February 8th, 1884.

She was the widow of the late George Nelsen who was a farmer in the county for many years. Mrs. Nelsen had lived in Blair at 19th and Lincoln streets prior to going to the Crowell Memorial Home where she succumbed to her last illness.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Blair Friday afternoon with the Rev. Charles Gates conducting the service. Burial, under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary was made in the Kennard Cemetery.

A grandson, Rev. Ronald Nelsen of Ainsworth, Nebraska, assisted Rev. Gates with the service.

Pallbearers were her grandsons.

Mrs. Nelsen is survived by two daughters and a son. One daughter, Mrs. Richard Johnson, preceded her in death.

The children are Mrs. Harry (Mildred) Paulsen, of Ft. Calhoun, Mrs. Raymond (Leola) Jensen, of Omaha; Clyde G. Nelsen, Sterling, Colorado. A son-in-law, Richard Johnson, resides in Blair.

There are four grandsons, 14 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

Mrs. Nelsen is also survived by three brothers and a sister. They are Jim Wright, of Blair, A.W. (Pete) Wright of Blair, Cullen Wright of Oregon, Mrs. Roscoe (Mabel) Stewart, of Omaha.

Note: She is buried in Blk 3 Lot 38 Sp 2 in the Kennard Cemetery.
