RUTH A. SAMSON, 78

Ruth A. Samson, 78, of Blair, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Interment will be in Blair’s Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 p.m.

Ruth Ann Samson was born Oct. 28, 1927, in Blair to Reed and Ruth (Maher) O’Hanlon, Sr. She graduated from Blair High School and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and was a countess for the Ak-Sar-Ben Ball.

On April 26, 1950, she married C.W. “Bill” Samson in Blair. The couple lived in Missouri Valley, Iowa, Falls City, and, for the last 35 years, in Blair. Mrs. Samson owned and operated the Washington County Abstract and Title Company for many years.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann Duey of Blair; Jane Samson of Irvine, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law, Reed and Jane Samson of Omaha, and John and Lorrie Samson of Blair; eight grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Eleanor Noble, Janet Foley and Blanche Stanley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and three brothers, Reed Jr., Clark and Robert.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church or the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
