Meta H. Breithaupt, 99, of Fremont died Monday, January 21, 2013, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday, January 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery.

Meta H. Hokamp was born March 21, 1913, on the family farm near Arlington to August and Martha (Knecht) Hokamp.

She grew up on the farm and was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. She had attended the Hartman School.

On May 14, 1939, she married John Breithaupt in the parsonage of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

They lived in Fremont most of their married years.

She had worked for Rogers Tent & Awning in Fremont during the war years. She also worked for the Fremont Hatchery and Arbor Manor for several years.

Mrs. Breithaupt sewed and volunteered at the Trinity Lutheran Day Care.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Gloria Breithaupt of Fremont and Duane Breithaupt of Lincoln; son-in-law, Vernon Brandert of Hooper; five grandchildren and their spouses, Melanie Brandert of Fremont, Marcia and Sean Holloway of Houston, Texas, Michael Brandert of Des Moines, Iowa, Kristy and Steven Broers of Fontanelle, Iowa, and Darcy and Nathan Metschke of Neligh; five great-grandchildren, Sophia, Malachi, and Micah Broers and Madison and Benson Metschke; and one sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Elmer Katt of Herman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in April of 1961; daughter, Verda Brandert; two sisters and three brothers.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church.
