Services Held In Herman For Christine Wilson

Funeral services was at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 10 at the Baptist Church in Herman for Christine Wilson 95 who died May 7 at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Rev. Barbara Schenkel conducted the service. Burial was at the Herman Cemetery.

Christine Anna Catherine Hagge was born May 22, 1886, to Peter and Anna VonLanken Hagge on a farm west of Blair. As a child she attended Cumming City School north of Blair.

On March 1, 1905 she married Edward Wells Wilson. They farmed near Blair for five years before moving to the Herman area where they farmed until a tornado destroyed their buildings in 1944. They then moved to Herman where she lived until last year when because of poor health, she became a resident of Crowell Memorial Home on March 19, 1981.

Christine was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 216 at Herman. She received her pin in 1973, having joined May 17, 1923. She was an original member of the Jolly Workers Club west of Herman.

She was raised a Lutheran but after moving to the Herman area became active in the Baptist Church. She was secretary of the Baptist Guild for many years.

She will also be remembered by the many people for whom she has quilted over a hundred quilts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Survivors include daughters, Elsie Wilson and Mrs. Howard (Harriet) Laughlin, both of Herman. Two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews also survive her.

Pallbearers were Robert Brodersen, Joe Cameron, Wm. Cameron, Cameron Jackson, Ed Vogel and Lyle Thielfoldt.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
