Rites Held For Edward Wilson

Funeral services were held at the Herman Federated Church for Edward Wells Wilson, 79 years of age, who died Saturday, Sept. 2nd. The Rev. Percy Bruns officiated with interment in Herman Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Christina Wilson; two daughters, Miss Elsie Wilson and Mrs. Kenneth Wachter (Harriet); one sister, Mrs. Louise Pilcher, all of Herman; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wilson, son of the late Thomas and Mary Wilson, was born in the Spiker-Vacoma neighborhood Nov. 4, 1881. He spent practically his entire life in Washington County. He attended Vacoma School and later Midland College, Fremont.

March 1, 1905 he was united in marriage to Christine Hagge in Blair, and to this union two children were born.

With the exception of few years spent as manager of the Farmers Union Co-Op Store in Herman, he farmed in the county until 1944, moving to Herman. He was engaged in carpenter work until a few years ago, when his health failed.

For many years he served on the Board of Directors of the Herman State Bank and the Farmers Union Co-Op. He was a longtime member of Lodge No 222, A. F. & A. M. at Herman and the Herman Chapter No. 216, O. E. S.

Pallbearers were William C. Cameron, Joe Cameron, Cameron Jackson, Robert Brodersen, Charles J. Brodersen and Robert Welton.
