SURVIVED BY WIDOW AND SIX CHILDREN, SEVERAL OF WHOM LIVE IN BLAIR

After an extended illness, four weeks of which confined him to his bed, Henry Sanders, an aged German-American citizen of Blair, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. D. Heningersen, who resides in the extreme north side of Blair, on Friday, April 2, 1915.

Henry Sanders was born in Holstein, Germany, in January, 1831; he came to America in 1887, and located in Iowa, moving from there to Emerson, Nebr., where he lived for twenty-four years, following all this time, his chosen vocation of farming. Three years ago he and his wife came to Blair to make their home with their children, Mrs. Heningersen, Mrs. Detlef and Mrs. Hellwinkel. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders were the parents of eight children, six of who are living, and all of these, with the exception of a daughter residing in Chicago, were present at the obsequies.

Mr. Sanders had acquired considerable property and was recognized as one of the most thrifty and successful German farmers in Dakota county.

The funeral rites were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Heningersen on Monday and interment made in Blair cemetery. A number of out-of-town people who were former neighbors of the deceased, came down from Emerson, to witness the laying away of a good husband, a fond father and a valued friend, whose memory will be cherished by those who are left. The friends are Messrs and Mesdames Henry Hingse, Carl Shwartn, Ed Shwartn, W. Weinart, Henry Frey, Nick Jensen, Chris Hintz, E.N. Hencke, and Henry Frey. They returned to Emerson on Monday evening train. Rev. Lambrecht, of the German-Lutheran church, conducted the funeral and spoke words of comfort to the sorrowing relatives to whom also, the condolence of their friends is extended.
