Connie J. Wimer, 45, of Blair, died Jan. 22, 2004, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

A memorial wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the John A. Gentleman Pacific Street Chapel, 14151 Pacific Street, in Omaha. A memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 119th and Pacific streets, Omaha. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. John’s Cemetery in Bellevue.

Connie J. Wimer was born Feb. 5, 1958, in Omaha to Ralph and Shirley Wever.

She attended school at St. Pius X Elementary and Marian High School in Omaha. She played on all four of the Marian volleyball teams that won state volleyball championships, and later played volleyball for one year at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

She was an all-around athlete who loved playing softball and tennis, and enjoyed boating, bowling and being outdoors.

She worked in the radiology department at Bergan Mercy Hospital and was a teacher’s aide at Tekamah-Herman elementary school, and also worked at Ronnie’s and the Cottonwood Marina.

She is survived by her son, Russell Wimer of Tekamah; fiancé, Randy “Rhubarb” Olson of Blair; father, Ralph Wever of Yuma, Ariz.; siblings and spouses, Cathy and Jerry Cook, David Wever, Ralph Jr. “Ted” and Glenda Wever, Carol Ryan and Steve Kelly, all of Omaha, Crystal and John Davis of Yuma, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
