Lawrence “Andy” Winslow, 67

Services for Lawrence Andy” Winslow, who died December 31, 1993 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, following a severe heart attack December 23 were January 4 at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Osceola, Nebraska with military honors by Wm. Wolfe Post No. 91 of the American Legion. Burial was in the Osceola Cemetery.

Lawrence Winslow was born September 27, 1925 in Maitland, Missouri to Loren and Delka Winslow. Known as Andy by family and friends from childhood, he graduated from Quitman Missouri High School in 1943 and joined the United States Navy serving his country in World War II. Following his discharge from active duty, he joined the Naval Reserves and was later called back to active duty at the time of the Korean Conflict.

He married LaVerna Pearson of Blair, Nebraska January 3, 1953. Making Blair their lifelong home, he worked for Blair Manufacturing Company for more than 40 years. He retired in 1989 when his health began to deteriorate and moved to Osceola to spend more time with his grandchildren.

He was a member of the American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Blair for many years. He was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church until his relocation to Osceola.

He is survived by his wife LaVerna of Osceola; sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Susan Winslow of Dallas, Texas and Andy and Deb Winslow of Omaha; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Dave Watts of Osceola and three grandchildren, Aaron Wats, Toni Watts and Kylie Watts, all of Osceola.

Roberts Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
