Michael H. Winslow, 56

Former Blair resident Michael Winslow, 56, of Newville, Pa., died May 30, 2004. He was interred at the Mount Washington Cemetery in Perryopolis, Pa.

Michael Winslow was born June 20, 1947, in Omaha to Earl and Kathryn (Ladwig) Winslow.

He attended Blair Schools until 9th grade, moved with his family to Uniontown, Pa.

He went on to become a Marine and fought in the Vietnam War where he earned several service medals. He later became a welder with Fruehauf Corporation and Landis Inc.

He was an active member of the Carlisle Church of God where he was a trustee and Superintendent of the Sunday School.

He is survived by his father, Earl Winslow, of Uniontown, Pa.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maralyn (Beecher) Adkins, of Omaha, Kathy Kiger and twin sister Betty (Larry) Gaskill, both of Uniontown, Pa.; brother and sister-in-law, Loren “Herk” and Rita Winslow of McKeesport, Pa., and a very special nephew, Shawn, who lived with him; as well as many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn; brother, the Rev. Norman Winslow and wife, Barbara.
