Samuel Case Dies

Succumbs to Blood Poisoning Following Tonsilar Operation

Samuel Case, jr., was born at Plattsmouth, Nebraska, March 25, 1880 and moved with his parents to Blair in 1889. He was educated in the public schools and on December 25, 1907 he was married to Miss Eva Marple of this city. To this union eight children were born, all of whom survive. He died at his home near Bertha last Friday evening following an operation for tonsillitis, which developed into blood poisoning. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Case and was well acquainted in this community.

Funeral services were held from the Divide Center church in Burt county Monday morning after which another service was held at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon from the local Methodist church, the Rev. Carl G. Bader officiating. Burial was made in Blair cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss, his bereaved wife, eight children and two sisters, Mrs. A. M. Andersen and Mrs. Wm. Gilliland of this city.

Those from out-of-town attending the funeral included: Nels Andersen and children of Winside; R. H. Marple and son, William, of Dupree, South Dakota; Fred Marple and wife of Winside; and Mrs. G. H. Gregory of Duluth, Minnesota.
