Shirley S. McIntosh, 71

Shirley S. McIntosh, 71, of Blair, died Monday, February 4, 2013, at Crowell Home in Blair.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, at First Baptist Church in Blair. Visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 3 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Shirley S. Crom was born on September 15, 1941, in Craig to Floyd and Elizabeth (Redding) Crom.

She attended school in the Tekamah area.

On November 1, 1958, she married Walter McIntosh in Onawa, Iowa.

The couple raised their family in Blair and were foster parents for many years. Over the years, Mrs. McIntosh worked various part-time jobs and worked full time at Control Data for 16 years and for five years for the Blair Schools.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Blair.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Victor and Toni McIntosh, all of Blair; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Stan Skinner of Phoenix, Ariz.; adopted son, Cory of Omaha; adopted daughter, Penny of Fort Calhoun; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Cathleen Wiese of Blair and Nancy Pelley of St. Louis, Mo.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter; brother, Howard and daughters-in-law, Roxann McIntosh and Nancy McIntosh.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
