James R. Bolton, 74

James R. Bolton, 74, of Blair died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

James R. Bolton was born August 20, 1938, in Omaha to Chris and Willie (Jones) Bolton. He grew up and attended school in Blair. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany until his honorable discharge.

He returned to Blair after his time in the service and on November 25, 1960, he married Elizabeth Gutschow of Blair.

Throughout his life, Mr. Bolton was employed as a long-haul truck driver and a heavy equipment operator. He worked locally at Kelly Ryan and retired from Nebraska Transport Company.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and having coffee and visiting with his friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Beth; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Shannon Bolton and Jason and Sheri Bolton, all of Blair; grandchildren, Lucas, Madison, Kennedy, Parker and Gaige; brothers, Larry, Bob and Pat Bolton; sisters, Mary Shumake, Shirley Grandgenett, Gloria Mantell and Sharon Robinson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacque; and brother, Bill.
