Gladys D. (Simonsen) Lang, 88

Gladys D. (Simonsen) Lang, 88, of Blair, died Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Crowell Home in Blair.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 16, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment of ashes will be in the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.

Gladys D. Simonsen was born October 11, 1924, in Beaver Crossing to John and Carrie (Hansen) Simonsen. She grew up in Blair and was a graduate of Blair High School.

She retired after many years of service from Western Electric (Lucent) in Omaha.

On December 14, 1980, she married Richard Lang.

Over the years, she enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David A. Jr. and Polly Wilson of Mt. Home, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Mary Wilson of Blair; brother and sister-in-law, David and Lily Simonsen of Greenwood, S.C.; sister-in-law, Irene Simonsen of Trinity, Fla.; grandsons and their spouses, Jason and Laurie Wilson and Chris and Colleen McAvin, all of Blair; granddaughter, Andrea Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas; great-granddaughter, Abby Wilson of Blair; and great-grandson, Tyler Wilson of Blair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lang; brothers, Elmer, Ed, Harold, Lester and Ted Simonsen; and sisters, Ethel Rasmussen, Leslie Simonsen and Chris Henning.

Memorials may be directed to the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impared.
