Services were Monday, July 5 at Zion Lutheran Church for Walter W. Witt, who died July 1, 1993 after a long illness. Rev. Pierson officiated.

Walter W. Witt was born March 22, 1909 at Bonestell, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Fairfax, South Dakota.

He married Beulah Stinson January 3, 1930. They farmed near Bennington for many years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lee, three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah of Blair, daughters, Betty Thomas of Omaha and Doris Gottsch of Bennington; a son, John of Oceanside, California; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; two sisters, Gladys Knowles of Omaha and Leola Halverson of Bonesteel and two brothers, Lawrence of Burke, South Dakota and Willis of Omaha.

His grandsons, Mike Almquist, Mike Bull, Don Bull, Rod Cohrs, Ken Gottsch and Rob Gottsch were pallbearers.
