John J. (Jack) Wohlers, 83, of Missouri Valley, died on November 5, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Omaha.

He was born on October 28, 1907, in Boomer Township, the son of Claus J.F. and Rebecca (Spark) Wohlers. Jack married Lorain Anna Christians on March 27, 1937 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Honey Creek. He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 8, at the First Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley, at 11 a.m. Pastor Alan Elsinger will officiate. Prayer service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, at 7 p.m. at the Hennessey, VanCleave and Hurley Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Interment will be in the Grange Cemetery near Crescent.

Hennessey, Van Cleave and Hurley Funeral Home of Missouri Valley, is handling the arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorain on February 7, 1990, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, John D. and JoAnn Wohlers of Missouri Valley, Roger and Mary Wohlers of Yorba Linda, CA; three grandsons, three granddaughters, one great-grandson; three great-granddaughters; one sister, Alma Wohlers of Missouri Valley; two brothers, George of Storm Lake and Charles of Missouri Valley.
