Roscoe Stewart Rites Saturday

Roscoe W. Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam W. Stewart was born July 19, 1887, at Blair, Neb. He passed away Sept. 14, 1950.

He was united in marriage to Mabel Wright on March 29, 1912, and to this union five children were born. He spent his life doing the work that he loved, farming in Washington County, where he spent most of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel, and four daughters, Dorothy, Mrs. John Gallagher; Mrs. Marjorie Wiesen; Lorraine, Mrs. Harold Hartman; Lois, Mrs. Dale Diefenbaugh, and one son, Roland.

Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Lucy Stewart, of Potter, Neb.; three brothers, Paul, of Omaha; Sam of Minneapolis; and Ted, of Blair; and three sisters, Mae, Mrs. Joe Nelson, and Lola, Mrs. Emil Nelson, of Potter, Neb.; and Corinne, Mrs. John Marshall, of Kennard, Neb.; also four grandchildren; one brother, Jay, passed away a short time ago.

He was an active member of the Men’s Fellowship Club of Fort Calhoun; he was always interested in all community affairs. Coming from a family of real farmers, he did his chosen work in a happy manner and was a good citizen and a real neighbor.

Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church in Blair, Saturday afternoon, Sept. 16, with Rev. Dickerson officiating and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.
