Guy K. Mead died at an Omaha hospital early this morning following an attack of heart trouble of about two weeks duration. The deceased was born at Marengo, Iowa, August 12, 1867, and came with his parents to Herman in 1882. Several years later he came to Blair and was graduated from the Blair high school after which he attended the university at Lincoln. He then associated himself with the former Haller Proprietary Company as a chemist and served in that capacity for many years. Later he took over the management of the Blair Gas Company and also operated a tire and battery business on east Washington street. About a year ago he retired from the gas company and since that time he had confined his efforts to his tire business. He was married in 1890 to Miss Grace Lowe and to this union four children were born, three of whom survive, a son having died in infancy. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ruth McLaughlin, Mrs. Glady Child and Miss Grace Mead, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Dr. C. R. Mead, and two sisters, the Misses Ethel and Gertrude Mead, all of this city. The funeral services will be conducted on Sunday afternoon but no definite arrangements have as yet been made.
