Hans T. Miller

Hans T. Miller, a resident of Blair for the past fifteen years, died at his home last Monday morning, May 27 as the result of heart trouble and following an illness of seven weeks.

Deceased was born in Schleswig, Germany, August 30, 1856 and was thus in his seventy-third year at his death.

He came to America in 1887 and engaged in farming which occupation he followed until fifteen years ago when he retired and moved to Blair. He was a man of good habits, strictly honest and industrious and had many friends who respected him for his sterling qualities.

The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock from the house and at 2:00 from the Danish Lutheran church, with Rev. Nielsen and Rev. Underwood officiating and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Besides the grief stricken wife he leaves to mourn him three sons, John of Blair, Geo. Of Albert Lea, Minn. and Lou of Arlington and two daughters, Mrs. Harold Coutts of Omaha and Mrs. J. C. Blackburn of Arlington.

Death comes following a Period of Seven Weeks Illness

H. T. Miller, a well known and highly respected retired farmer of this city, passed away at the family home Monday morning following an illness of seven weeks' duration, the last from which he had been confined to his bed.

Mr. Miller was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, August 30, 1856, and came to Washington county in 1887, engaging in farming, from which occupation he retired about fifteen years ago. He was married to Marie Johanna Jorgensen, who with the following children survives him: John E. of this city, George of Albert Lea, Minn., Lou of Arlington; Mrs. H. Coutts of Omaha and Mrs. Jay C. Blackburn of Arlington.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and 2:00 from the Danish Lutheran church, Rev. Nielsen and Rev. Underwood officiating. Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
