The angel of death took another former Kennard resident when Mrs. Tillie Nelsen passed away at her home in Omaha Thursday night after a lengthy illness of about two years duration. Mrs. Nelsen and Mr. Nelsen made this place their home for many years while he managed the store now owned by Berry’s and was well known and liked by everyone. She is survived by her husband, Ernest C. C. Nelsen, one son, Earl, and three daughters, Meta, Erma and Evelyn, two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services were held at Omaha on Sunday at 1 p.m. and at 3 p.m. at the Methodist church here with interment in Kennard cemetery. We extend heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing family and relatives.

Former Kennard Woman Dies

Mrs. E. C. Nelsen, formerly of Kennard, passed away at her home in Omaha on last Thursday, May 3rd at the age of forty-four years. For years Mr. and Mrs. Nelsen resided in Kennard where Mr. Nelsen was engaged in the mercantile business running the store now operated by the Berry Bros.

The funeral services were held Sunday from the Moore funeral home at one o’clock and at the M. E. Church in Kennard at three o’clock and interment was made in the Kennard Cemetery.

Besides the grief-stricken husband, she leaves four children, the youngest a daughter of twelve years. They are Meta, Erma, Earl and Evelyn and they will greatly miss the care and protection of a mother’s love. She also leaves four brothers, Miller Hansen of Nashville, George of Omaha, Carl and Nels of Blair and two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Pokorney of Valparasio, Nebr. and Mrs. Ed Jacobson of Raymond, Nebr.
