C. ROSENBECK DIED SATURDAY

FUNERAL WAS HELD YESTERDAY AT THE DANISH CHURCH AND BURIAL WAS IN THE BLAIR CEMETERY

Christen Rosenbeck passed away at his home, just north of the old George Smith farm at the city limits on the northwest, of heart trouble last Saturday morning at 1:30 a.m. He had been a very vigorous man up to a few days ago when his heart began to give him trouble, finally causing his death.

The funeral service was held at the Danish Lutheran church at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon, Dr. P.S. Vig speaking in English and Rev. I.M. Hansen in the Danish language. Rev. H. Nielsen had charge of the service at the grave in the Blair cemetery.

Deceased was born in North Schleswig, March 7th, 1854, so was just past 74 years of age. He came to this country in 1873 and settled at Davenport, Ia., where he worked among the farmers.

He was united in marriage to Miss Nelsine Berg, of Koldig, Nov. 15th, 1878, so they lacked but three months of being able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. For two years they made their home on a farm near Davenport, then took a homestead near Harlan, Ia., where they lived for 30 years. They moved to this city in 1911.

Five children were born to them, four of whom have preceded their father to the Great Beyond. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Francis Strahn, of Worthington, Minn. He was a father and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
