Services were Saturday, April 15, 1995 at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church for Walter Sappenfield, 90 of Fort Calhoun. Masonic services were Friday by Solomon Lodge No. 10. Burial was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
He is survived by a daughter, Leah Jane Nelson of Fort Calhoun; two sons, Carl of Northglenn, Colorado and Richard of Nashville, Nebraska; two brothers, Clyde of Blair and Clarence of Denver; a sister, Frances Sweet of Cheyenne, Wyoming; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun was in charge of arrangements.
