Louise O. Ernst 61, of Schelswig, Iowa, died Sunday, January 19, 1986, in a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, after a short illness.

Services were at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 22, 1986, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, Iowa. The Reverend Richard Nelson officiated. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mapleton, Iowa. A prayer service was at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 1986, in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Mrs. Ernst, the former Louise Weifenbach, was born August 16, 1924, in Ewing, Nebraska, and came with her parents, Chris and Olga (Rosenbocher) Weifenbach, to Mapleton, Iowa, when she was a young girl.

She married Wilbur Schlie October 30, 1943, in Ute, Iowa. He died in 1946. She married Steve Ernst August 14, 1948, in Onawa, Iowa. They lived in the Danbury and Mapleton communities from 1948 until 1963, when they moved to the Ricketts and Schleswig area.

In 1975, they moved into Schleswig, Iowa. Mr. Ernst died December 12, 1975.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two daughters, one son, four brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Jordon of Blair, Nebraska, Mrs. Tim (Betty) Daniel of Storm Lake, Iowa, Mrs. Marc (Linda) Hamann of Holstein, Iowa, and Mrs. Rick (Sally) Ruffalo of Sioux City, Iowa; three brothers, Henry of Mapleton, Iowa, Alfred of Little Sioux, and George of Gunnison, Colorado; three sisters, Mrs. Frieda Kurath of Mapleton, Iowa, Mrs. Anna Fick of Schleswig, Iowa, and Mrs. Alma Staatz of Great Falls, Montana; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Marvin Albertsen, Darren Woebke, Randy Goodman, Kevin Christie, Mark Knight and Bert Dimig.
