FRED SASS TO BE BURIED ON TUESDAY

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. for Fred Sass, 74, who died December 20, 1980, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Rev. Dennis Borchers will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Fred Sass was born in Massena, New York, on July 29, 1906, to Herman F. and Sallie B. Sexton Sass. He married Beatta Raasch at Bancroft, Nebraska, on December 7, 1928.

He moved from West Point, Nebraska to Blair in 1942 and worked in the City of Blair Power Plant as Superintendant. He remained on a part-time basis until failing health required that he retire fully. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Daniel McKinnis.

He is survived by his wife, Bea, Blair; one son, Fred W. Sass, Birmingham, Alabama; and two daughters, Mrs. Clair (Gwen) McKinnis and Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Ryan, both of Blair. Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive him.

Dale Von Seggern will be organist. Joel Kolterman will provide the vocal music.

Pallbearers will be Paul Schroder, Damon Cornwell, Andy Andrews, Tom Austin, Leonard Laaker and George Lund.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
