JOHN SAS BURIED SUNDAY

John Sas, of Pender, passed away at his home in that city last Friday at 6:30 a.m. following an illness that dates back several years. His illness and death were primarily the result of an automobile accident occurring several years back which left him in poor health and a few months back he became bedfast.

Deceased was born in Boone, Iowa, and had he lived until next December 7, he would have passed his 69th birthday.

He came to Blair in 1891 shortly after his brothers, Rudolph and Will, had come and established a business in the building where the Larson Bros. are now located.

In 1895 he was married to Miss Dora Lundt, a half-sister of the Lundt brothers. To them, one son, Rudolph, was born. This son was accompanied with his father in the mercantile business in Pender and has taken over the business.

Besides the wife and son one sister, Mrs. Freeman Parish, still survives. His brothers, Rudolph, Henry, Will and Fred all preceded him in death a number of years ago.

John was in business in Blair for a number of years and then went to Winner, South Dakota, where he operated a general store. He was also in business in Tekamah before going to Pender. Of the original family, only Mrs. Freeman Parish is left.

A funeral service was held at Pender and the body was brought to Blair where a short service was held and interment was made in the Blair cemetery at 4:30 p.m.

Mrs. Sas and son have the sympathy of all their old friends in Blair in their great sorrow.
