ALBERT J. SCHAFER, 91

Albert J. Schafer, 91, of Fort Calhoun, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, in Fort Calhoun.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun. Interment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Omaha.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7 p.m.

Albert J. Schafer was born July 31, 1916, in Omaha.

He was a member of the Fort Calhoun American Legion Post No. 348.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian (Britton) Schafer; daughters, Karen Flere of Omaha and Joan McCabe of Palm Desert, Calif.; sons, Dave Schafer of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Steve Schafer and Mark Schafer, both of Omaha; sister, Marie Noah of Omaha; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

FUNERAL MASS 10 am Sat. St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre, Omaha. Memorials to the Ft. Calhoun Fire and Rescue Dept. and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
