RALPH SCARLET DIED SUDDENLY LATE SATURDAY

Ralph Scarlet, a well known Blair man, died suddenly Saturday evening from what is believed to have been a heart attack. He had been at the Blair Marina and had left early in the evening. Several hours later his body was discovered near his car by another driver who was leaving the restaurant.

Ralph Leon Scarlett, son of George and Idde Scarlett, was born on August 4, 1905, in Orange County, Indiana. He had been in failing health for several years and this attributed to his death Saturday evening, October 17th. He was 65 years of age.

When a boy of 4 years the family moved to Tekamah, Nebraska where Ralph grew to manhood.

He was united in marriage to Mardelle Sheets on March 9, 1936 and three children were born to this union.

The family made their home in Herman until 1951 when they moved to Commerce City, Colorado where Ralph was engaged in mechanical work.

In 1964 Mr. and Mrs. Scarlet returned to Nebraska making their home in Blair.

One daughter who passed away at birth, his parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Mardelle, one son Ralph Leon Jr. of Commerce City, Colorado; one daughter, Kathleen, Mrs. Robert Hansen of Herman; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lora Chandler and Mrs. Hazel Patten, both of Omaha, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Herman Baptist Church with Marion Loftis serving as minister and conducting the service. Burial was made in the Herman Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home of Blair.
