Mrs. W. J. Stevens died at her home in Tekamah on November 21, following an illness of several months duration. The deceased was born October 20, 1858 in Meigs county, Ohio, and lived there until in 1899 when the family moved to Iowa and later to Nebraska. She was married to W. J. Stevens and to this union six children were born, five of whom survive her. She was well acquainted in this community and had a host of friends who though highly of her. She leaves to mourn her loss, two sons, Sam of this city and Fred W. of Tekamah; and three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Clandon of Herman, Daisy Haley of Irvington and Miss Minnie Stevens of Tekamah.
