Herbert Unland Dies at Lincoln After Short Illness

Herbert Unland, highly respected citizen of Arlington, passed away suddenly in a Lincoln hospital at 5:30 last Wednesday afternoon.

He had just returned several weeks ago from spending the winter in California and an extended sight seeing trip in company with his brother, Ben. He had not been very well since his return and went to Lincoln on Sunday for treatment in a hospital there.

He was 50 years of age, born in Arlington and spent practically all of his life in Washingon county. A year ago he retired from the farm on account of poor health.

The deceased leaves a son, L. Carroll, of Arlington, and a daughter, Mrs. Xenophon Cross of Wakefield, nine brothers, Ed, Emil, Samuel, Roscoe, Ben, Howard and Al, all of California, Jule of Texas and W. F. Unland of Arlington. The body was laid to rest in Arlington cemetery.
