Walter Glenn Webb

Walter Glenn Webb was born January 28, 1912, at Kennard, Nebraska, and passed away at the home of his parents in Hastings, Nebraska, May 25, 1929, at the age of 17 years, 3 months, and 27 days.

He spent his early childhood in Kennard, and at the age of seven moved with his parents to Magnet, Nebraska, where he lived until last March. He attended the public school near Magnet, and the Magnet high school for three years.

Of loving disposition and pleasing personality, he made friends with all whom he met. He habitually looked upon the bright side of life. He was particularly considerate of his parents, and happy in his relationship with his brothers and sisters.

His illness was brief and sharp. Though everything that loving hands could do was done for him, death occurred one week after he became sick. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Webb of Hastings; two sisters, Mrs. George Hall of Magnet, and Miss Frieda Webb, who teaches at Doniphan, and on whose birthday his death happened; two brothers, Gilbert and Willard, who reside with their parents at Hastings; together with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 28th, at 2 P.M., at the Kennard Methodist church, the Rev. Carl Bader of Blair officiating, with music by the choir of the Kennard Methodist church and interment was made at the Kennard cemetery.

#2-3 May, 1929 - The Pilot-Tribune Glenn Webb, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Webb formerly of this community, passed away at the family home at Hastings Saturday night of an attack of erysipelas, he having been ailing about a week. The remains were brought to Kennard Monday afternoon, the funeral services being held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. with burial at the Kennard cemetery. He is survived by his parents and several brothers and sisters and a host of relatives and friends here.
