Jens Christian Angersen was born in Hauslund, Schleswig, Germany, July 17, 1839, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jens Nielsen, on west South street last Saturday morning. He came to America in 1868 and on the 14th of July, 1871, he was united in marriage with Marie Schmidt, who died in 1917. Three children were born to this union, one died in infancy while another passed away six years ago. The deceased has been a resident of this community for many years and was highly thought of by a large circle of friends. A funeral service was conducted from the Nielsen home on Monday afternoon, the Rev. Nielsen, pastor of the Danish Lutheran church, officiating, after which interment was made in an Omaha cemetery. Surviving him are a daughter, Mrs. Jens Nielsen and a number of grandchildren.
