Marilyn Fleming, 85

Marilyn Fleming, 85, of Blair, died Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Carter House in Blair.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 23, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Marilyn Mencke was born on September 24, 1927, in Blair to Ralph and Dorothy (Parish) Mencke. She lived most of her life in Blair and was a graduate of Blair High School. She attended school at Dana College and Iowa State University.

She was employed at Betty’s Jewelry in Blair.

In June of 1950, she married Robert A. Fleming of Blair. To this union, two children were born.

Mrs. Fleming was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blair.

She enjoyed architecture and planning the cabin in Minnesota that she and Mr. Fleming built together. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Cheryl Fleming and Kevin and Linda Fleming, all of Blair; grandchildren, Jessica and husband Mike Langenberg of Lincoln, Rayna Fleming and fiancée Josh of Omaha, Bob Fleming of Omaha and Ian Fleming of Omaha; and great-grandchild, Ellery Langenberg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob.

Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Blair.
