Services For Harry Orville Erwin Held Wednesday

Harry O. Erwin, age 93, of Craig, passed away Saturday, July 2, 1988, at the Tekamah Nursing Center in Tekamah

Harry was born on March 15, 1895, at Craig, to William C. and Matilda (Chilstrom) Erwin.

He was united in marriage to Mary Roach on April 26, 1930. Mary passed away on November 11, 1975. Harry was married to Bernice Terrell on February 24, 1978.

He was a member of George Armstrong Lodge No. 241, A.F. & A.M. and American Legion Post No. 127, both of Craig and V.F.W. Post No. 5543 of Oakland.

Harry was a World War I veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps in France from October 25, 1917, to July 11, 1919. Harry was also a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church in Craig.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Erwin of Portland, OR; one son, James H. Erwin of Blair, and one daughter, Carol Erwin of Norfolk; six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters; one sister, Minnie Wahlstrom of Craig.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary, and one daughter, Marilyn Berg.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, July 6, 1988, at the Craig Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Hal Smith officiating. Interment was in the Craig Cemetery with military graveside honors by American Legion Post No. 127 of Craig. Arrangements were handled by the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
