Former Arlington Woman To Be Buried Friday

Funeral services will be Friday, September 18, at 3 p.m. at graveside for Lillian Mathis Winset, 78, of Hawthorne, Florida, who died at Community Convalescent Center in Gainesville, Florida on September 15, 1981. Rev. Gary Deam will conduct the services.

Lillian Mathis Winset was born June 30, 1903, to Chris and Annie Hansen Mathis. Her family was one of the first pioneering families in the state of Nebraska.

She was a business woman in real estate. She had moved from Arlington to Hawthorne, Florida about 27 years ago. She was a Methodist.

She was married to Clarence Charles Winset and he survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Anna Marie Winset Fine, Miami, Florida; and Carol Lee Winset Arevada, New York, New York; and one grandchild.

Williams – Thomas Funeral Home in Gainesville, is in charge of arrangements for the services.
