Ruth A. Erwin, 38, of rural Washington County, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center after her vehicle collided with a garbage truck near Cunningham Lake in northern Douglas County.

Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 4, at Frazier Cemetery in Missouri Valley, Iowa, with Pastor Connie O. McWilliams officiating.

Ruth A. Erwin was born Jan. 7, 1964, in Omaha to David and Beverly (Hodges) Hollenbeck. She attended and graduated from high school in Middleton, Tenn.

On Feb. 6, 1982, she married Mike Erwin. She was a computer consultant for Great Plains Communications Inc. of Blair.

She is survived by her husband, Mike, daughter, Amanda and son, Curtis, all of rural Washington County; mother, Beverly Davis of Missouri Valley, Iowa; father, David Hollenbeck of Omaha; sisters and brother-in-law, Jennie Stoddard of Blair, and Lori and Jason Hinrich of Missouri Valley.

She was preceded in death by her infant son.

Hennesey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley was in charge of arrangements.
