Marie Rasmussen’s Sisters Died During Past Week

Private funeral services were held for Mrs. Lillian Rasmussen Wood at Berkeley, California, on Monday, April 7. Dr. Jack Finegan of the University Christian Church officiating. Mrs. Wood passed away in an Oakland hospital following an illness of four months.

The deceased was born at Blair on December 9, 1907. She attended the Blair City Schools and was a graduate of Blair High School. She continued her education at Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Missouri, and the University of Chicago, earning degrees in art at the latter institution. Later she did post graduate work at several institutions of higher learning. For more than twenty years she was an art instructor or supervisor in a number of schools and colleges.

Lillian Rasmussen and William L. Wood were united in marriage at Chicago, Illinois, on March 29, 1953. After spending a year in Phoenix, Arizona, the couple moved to Berkeley, California. Mrs. Woods served as a lecturer in art education at the University of California from 1955 until December, 1957. She was active in the YWCA and was a member of the choir of the University Christian Church. She was also affiliated with many professional groups in the education field.

Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband and two sisters, Marie Rasmussen of this city and Mrs. D. J. (Minnie) Hundahl of Dallas, Texas. Another sister, Mrs. Howard Hastings (Nellie) passed away six days after Mrs. Wood’s death.
