CLARENCE SCHAFERSMAN SERVICES HELD TUESDAY

Services for Clarence G. Schafersman, 72, of Telbasta, Nebraska were held Tuesday, June 11, at the Methodist Church in Nickerson, Nebraska. Mr. Schafersman passed away the morning of May 8, at a Fremont Hospital.

The 2:00 p.m. services were conducted by Rev. G.F. Jansson and Rev. Gene Watson, with Reckmeyer funeral home in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Telbasta Cemetery.

Mr. Schafersman was born in Telbasta on Nov. 9, 1901, the oldest son of Mary and Edward Schafersman. He lived all of his life there, where he was in business with his father and brother. After his father’s death in 1937, he and his brother, Chester, continued to operate the store until it closed in 1959.

He was married to Lillian Fredericksen in Wahoo, Nebraska on October 15, 1931. They were the parents of three children, Mrs. Ben (Barbara) Bland of Whittier, California; Mrs. William (Rose) Diedrich of Ogallala, Nebraska; and a son, William, of Telbasta, all of whom survive. He is also survived by a brother, Chester, of Blair, and a sister, Mrs. Richard (Vera) Melvard of Arlington, and seven grandchildren.

At one time he was quite active in musical groups, playing the tuba with the Telbasta band, the Scribner marching band and several orchestra.

Pallbearers were Darrell Flake, Allen Boschult, Leslie Kruger and Richard, Raymond, and Chester Bockerman.
