LILLIAN H. SCHAFERSMAN, 93

Lillian H. Schafersman, 93, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at her home in Arlington.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with the Rev. Greg Hall officiating. There is no visitation.

Lillian H. Schafersman was born May 28, 1911, in Portland, Ore., to Julius and Agnes (Rasmussen) Fredericksen. She moved to Nebraska with her family when she was 4 years old, and lived in the Telbasta area of Washington County.

She married Clarence C. Schafersman on Oct. 15, 1931, in Wahoo. He died in 1974.

Mrs. Schafersman moved to Nickerson in 1974, and to Arlington in 1984. She worked at the Telbasta Store, then for the Sperling Turkey Farm, and was an assistant cook at Camp Fontanelle from 1975 until 1989. She also baked and decorated wedding cakes for many years.

She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Fremont, and was active in the United Methodist Women. She had been a member of the former Methodist Church, which was located in Nickerson.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in –law, William “Bill” and Velma Schafersman of Arlington; two daughters, Barbara Bland and Rose Diedrich, both of Arlington; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Leila Fredericksen of Upland, Calif.; two sisters, Irma Freeman of Anaheim, Calif., and Sonja Bridges of Reno, Nev.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 10 nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to Calvary United Methodist Church Building Fund in Fremont, or the Arlington Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department.

Moser Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
