Rupert H. Vogt, 89

Rupert H. Vogt, 89, of Arlington, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Arlington. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery at Arlington.

Rupert H. Vogt was born April 10, 1923, in Arlington to John W. and Anna M. (Stork) Vogt. He graduated from Arlington High School and spent his life in the Arlington area where he was a farmer most of his life.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and served as treasurer and president of the congregation and was a member of the choir. He also operated the church sound system for many years.

He served on the Arlington Public School Board for 12 years.

Mr. Vogt enjoyed putting puzzles together and many of them are hung in the homes of his loved ones. He had a great appreciation for the outdoors. His favorite past time was making trips to the "other place" to go check on things.

He is survived by 12 nieces and nephews and their spouses, Leon (Marge) Sperling of Fremont, Arlene (Don) Reed of Las Vegas, Nev., Sheryl (George) Lively of Cedar Bluffs, Jerome Sperling and Dave Sperling, both of Arlington, Myron (Pam) Lottman of Charlotte, N.C., Delbert (Nancy) Lottman of Brooklyn Parks, Minn., Patty (Randy) Rogers and Cindy (Steve) Deutsch, all of Wichita, Kan., Teresa (Mike) Focht of St. Peters, Mo., Lynn Greunke of Arlington and Mark (Chris) Vogt, all of Arlington; many great-nieces and great-nephews; sisters-in-law, Alice Vogt and Verna Vogt, both of Arlington; and special caregivers.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest Vogt and Harris Vogt; sisters, Ruth, Mildred and Edna Vogt, Helen Sperling and Ann Marie Lottman; two nephews and one niece.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Arlington.
