Alice L. Vogt, 77

Alice L. Vogt, 77, of Arlington, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Thursday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, north of Arlington.

Alice L. Meyer was born May 1, 1935, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to the Rev. Victor and Louise (Mayer) Meyer.

Her father served congregations in various locations but she spent the majority of her early years in Boise, Idaho.

She was a graduate of Seward High School in Seward and went on to obtain her teaching certificate at Concordia University. She received and accepted a call to serve as a teacher at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Arlington. This is where she met and later married Harris Vogt on July 27, 1958, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Arlington.

Mr. Vogt died February 16, 2007.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Arlington. She was also a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Woman's Missionary League and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She enjoyed bowling, baking, gardening, canning, sewing, knitting, crocheting and playing cards.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Chris Vogt of Arlington; daughters and son-in-law, Terri and Mike Focht of St. Louis, Mo., and Lynn Greunke of Arlington; sister, Phyllis Reece of Casa Grande, Ariz.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harris; son, John Vogt; brother, Roland Meyer; and sister, Dorothy Stasco.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and to the Alzheimer's Association.
