Irma F. Schrum, 84

Irma F. Schrum, 84, formerly of Blair, died Monday, March 4, 2013, in Omaha.

A time of sharing and visitation will be Monday March 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a time of sharing at 7 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Irma Frances Fouraker was born February 18, 1929, in Salem, to Ernest R. and Sallie A. (Snodgrass) Fouraker.

She spent part of her childhood in Salem and the surrounding area until the family moved to Omaha in 1940.

On October 22, 1955, she married Helmut Schrum. The couple made their home in Omaha. She worked at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Boys Town as a secretary.

In the late 1980s, the couple moved to Lake Ottertail, Minn. In 1999, they moved back to Nebraska and made their home in Blair.

Mrs. Schrum was a resident of Crowell Home from July 2011 until January 2013.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, and knitting many stocking hats for newborn babies every year.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Omaha.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, John of Uxbridge, Mass.; Lynn and Cindy of Silver City, Iowa; daughter, Lisa Schrum of Blair; grandchildren, Michael and wife, Julie, of Kennard, Pam of Omaha and Matt of Stamford, England; great-grandchildren, Katie, Jesse, Lydia and Rebekah of Kennard; brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Carol Fouraker of Houston, Texas; sister- in-law, Catherine Goldapp; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Helmut; and son, Tommy.

Memorials may be directed to the Blair Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad or Crowell Home.
