Lois Ethel Salmon Woodring, 92

Services were held at the First Baptist Church in Pattonsburg, Missouri Monday, January 29, for Lois Ethel Salmon Woodring, who died January 26, 1990 in Maysville at the Sunset Nursing Home there. Burial was in the Rebecca & Oddfellows Lodge Cemetery in Pattonsburg.

Lois Ethel Salmon was born in Pattonsburg on April 3, 1897, the oldest of five children to Walter and Verdia Webb Salmon. She married Allie Brice Woodring on January 31, 1915 and they would have been married 75 years this year.

They lived in Pattonsburg until 1920, then moved to Crofton, Nebraska and from there to Blair, Nebraska in 1923. They returned to Pattonsburg in 1951 where they lived until she was taken to the Highlands Nursing Home in Gallatin in 1985. After a brief stay in her home in 1987, she was taken from the hospital to the Sunset Nursing Home in Maysville where she lived the rest of her life.

She was the mother of six children, Mildred, Brice, Jr., A.L., Helen, Maxine and Marlene.

She was affiliated with War Mothers, Royal Neighbors, Rebekah Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and The Cross Roads Community Club. She was a member of the Baptist Church and attended faithfully until ill health prevented it.

She was preceded in death by two children, Mildred Swingholm and Helen Kreins; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother.

She is survived by her husband, A.B. Woodring of the Sunset Nursing Home; one brother, Emil Salmon, Pattonsburg; four children, Brice Woodring, Jr., Blair; A.L. Woodring, Pattonsburg, Missouri, Maxine Rathjen, Fort Calhoun and Marlene White, Maysville; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her six grandsons, Bill Rathjen, Walter Woodring, David Woodring, Don Woodring, Duane Woodring and Steven White were pallbearers.
