BERTHA M. SCHEER, 88

Bertha M. Scheer, 88, of Fremont died February 9 at Good Samaritan Center in Scribner. She was born July 21, 1900 at Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska and grew up there. She graduated from high school in 1919 and then attended the Fremont Normal College. She worked for an insurance company and later as a linotype operator for the Fremont Tribune. She was a member of Fremont Presbyterian Church and the Home Harmony Extension Club.

She married A.H. (Barney) Scheer of Arlington on September 17, 1944 in Seattle, Washington.

She is survived by her husband, Barney; a brother, Herbert Osterman of Buffalo, New York; and a sister, Josephine Carstensen of Scribner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claus and Dorothy Harding Osterman; three brothers, Albert, Otto and Walter and a sister, Ella Hoffman.

Services were Monday, February 13, at Fremont Presbyterian Church. Rev. David Hansen officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Pallbearers were Lyle and Kenneth Hoffman, Milford Jones, Udell Brown, Melvin Scheer and Emil Roeber.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
